Traditional Sailing Boat

‘The Coot’

We have launched our new range of traditional boats. The first boat in our range is called the “Coot”. The Coot is an 11ft clinker sailing dinghy with a Cat rig. Designed by Andrew Wolstenholme as the “Coot” in the early 1980s.

We bought a “Coot” in the summer of 2024 and loved it so much that we felt it would be the perfect starting point for our new range of traditional boats.

They are the perfect boat for single or double handed sailing in Burnham Overy Staithe. Constructed out of the highest specification Sapele plywood. Bronze fastened and fitted out in Oak and Mahogany. Due to the hull planking being plywood, it is glued together which means that they don’t leak which is rare for a wooden boat.

We are so excited to be building three of these beautiful dinghies over the winter launching for the Spring of 2026. If you are interested in having one built please do get in touch.
